The streams from the various services are color-coded to help you determine from where they fed. If you don’t like the merged column, you can remove it. The merged column can include multiple Twitter feeds, Facebook, FourSquare and Google Buzz streams all in a single column. Merged Columns – ChromeDeck includes unified columns, aggregating all of your feeds into a single column to save space and make things easier to view.Nice FeaturesĪs mentioned above, there are a lot of features that you’ll find in ChromeDeck that you won’t find in the desktop application (at least, not yet). There are a lot of neat features that you won’t find in the full-fledged desktop version but there are also a few features I used regularly in the AIR application that I sorely miss in the Chrome version. I am very pleased with the application, and am extremely impressed at how similar the appearance is to the desktop app. This can make it harder for a user to monitor multiple search terms in real time. For the past few weeks, I have been using ChromeDeck (the native Tweetdeck application for the Google Chrome browser) fairly exclusively as my desktop Twitter client. The other downside is that a user cannot access their Twitter lists on this app.Īlthough it is relatively fast, it can slow down when it has to deal with large volumes of tweets. This is useful if they use their Twitter account for business transactions. A number of Twitter apps let people see how many followers are clicking on their links. The biggest downside to this Twitter client is it lack of reporting features. Depending on who or what they are already following, TweetDeck makes suggestions about who to follow next - a good way for users to network with people or companies they would not have usually sought out on their own. Recommendations are another useful feature. A user can set the trend to a specific location or can trend worldwide. This feature can take a user around the world tracking what is hot and what is not. One of these features is the trending column. TweetDeck boasts a long list of features that helps users stay connected to the world with ease. Adding new groups is easy, and moving contacts to this list is even easier. When a user clicks this icon, they are directed to the lists windows. #Tweetdeck desktop app plusAt the bottom of each tweet near the posting title is a small plus sign. It is a straightforward way to look for information within this Twitter client. Adding colleagues, friends and others that people follow to lists or groups is a fantastic feature. People also love the design of this Twitter app and the ease of navigation.Īlthough there are many buttons and tabs to choose from, they are grouped in a logical manner in different locations throughout this app. #Tweetdeck desktop app how toIf a person has forgotten how to use the management tools showcased in this Twitter app, the support and help options are excellent for quickly getting needed information. Due to this constant discovery, remembering how and when to use the variety of Twitter management tools can be a bit disconcerting. The more a person dabbles in it, the more features they use and uncover. The standard installer quickly unwraps TweetDeck and does not demand a system restart once the installation process is completed. #Tweetdeck desktop app freeWhat is even better is that it is free to use and compatible with all Windows versions, including Vista. Unlike the app designed for Windows 8, it makes room for enhancements through timelines, customized columns, themes, keyboard shortcuts and more. Fortunately, there is another project that Twitter developed to cover this. #Tweetdeck desktop app windows 8Even though Twitter's official application for Windows 8 looks seems the rational solution for users, it is currently poor when it comes to customization features.
